BG Architects is an Istanbul based architecture firm, founded in 1997 by Bülent Güngör, M.Arch.Along with urban design, educational, residential, commercial, cultural and mixed-use architectural projects with various functions and scales, the firm also provides services in interior architecture and restoration&renovation fields.
While maintaining complementary services like design consultancy and application supervision, the main mission of BG Architects is to deliver design output that responds to social, environmental and functional parameters and adds value to the user and its context. According to these objectives, the company advances its practices with offices in Bodrum, Berlin, Princeton/NJ and Bucharest, combining localand traditional fund of knowledge with contemporary materials and techniques.
BG Architects perceives design not solely as an architectural output, but rather an integrated processand believes that interdisciplinary interaction is key to achieve the best possible outcome. Since the launch of the firm, BG Architects has been collaborating with different professionals on different fields, and has realised more than 3 million sqm of architectural projects.
One of the preliminary examples of this approach is Ozyegin University Cekmekoy Campus which consists of 13 buildings designed and overseen with Princeton-based design partner ARK, over the last decade.
